The garden design meets all our needs -it was designed to be an inviting and peaceful space for us and our guests as they meander through our yard.  The height of the garden box is ideal to tend to the veggies without hurting our knees and back.  The appearance is very peaceful with bamboo trellis giving the space a bit of a zen feeling with herb dividers that keep the garden looking clean and organized.

With U Grow’s recommendations, we had a wonderful mix of tomatoes/veggies and herbs in the quarter(summer).  Of the 20 or so varieties, all but the spinach, thrived.   With little gardening experience and no experience growing organically, the on site tutorials were extremely valuable.  Jake was able to identify each critter in my garden, both good and bad, and recommend the proper course of action to eliminate the bad ones and keep the good ones. These tutorials saved me several trips to the local Garden store and probably a year or two of experimenting.

The fresh herbs are amazing:  Fresh Basil (4 types!), Chives, Mint, Thyme, Oregano etc.. has livened up our sauces and salads. Additionally, we been have encouraged  to experiment with dishes that were not in our standard repertoire….The presentation of our dishes has never been more appetizing!

I would like to give some credit for the success we have enjoyed in our first year of backyard gardening, however, I probably had little to do with it.

Installation of our garden was completed the day before I had a serious injury.  The injury had me bed ridden for three weeks (an additional 9 weeks on crutches) and my wife went on full time nurse duty.  A recipe for failure if ever there was one.  But not this garden!  In my absence and almost on its own, the garden thrived.  An expert irrigation system, proper plant material choices and ideal placement/spacing made the difference.  To this I thank the UGrow team.
